The victory Day:
The 16th December  is our Victory Day because we have become independent on this day. It is a red letter day in our life. We celebrate this day every year with great pleasure and joy. It remains us of the sacrifices and struggle of the dedicated souls in 1971. Millions of people laid down their lives to uphold Bangladesh in the world map as a free and independent country. After the nine months war we achieved our great historical independence on December 16, 1971. 
Independence Day:
The 26th March is our Independence Day because on this day in 1971 our independence was declared. On the mid night of March 25,1971 Pakistani army fell upon the innocent people and killed them. On the night of 26th March, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was arrested and was taken to Pakistan. Just before his arrest, he declared the independence of Bangladesh. After that time, We celebrate this day every year with great pleasure and joy as a Independence Day.
International Mother Language Day:
The 21st February is a memorable day in the history of Bangladesh. This day is also called Shaheed Dibash. On this day in 1952, some brave sons of our soil had Sacrificed their lives for the sake of our mother tongue, Bangla. Then Pakistani rulers declared that ' Urdu' would be the state language of East Pakistan. The bengalis opposed it from the very beginning. On the 21th February 1952, The students of Dhaka University  brought out a procession and the police fired on a procession. Rafiq, Jabbar, Salam, Barkat and many others were martyred. Since then the 21st is observed as a 'Shaheed Day'. 
On this day, we go to the Shaheed Minar bear footed and offers flowers in memory of our Martyrss. We wear black badges and sing, "Amar Bhayer Raktay Rangano Akusey February.' Bangladesh Betar and different channels telecast different programs. The government, Different organizations and institutions arrange different programmes to celebrate the day. 
In 1999, UNESCO declared the day as 'International mother Language Day'. Since then it is celebrated globally.
Eid-ul-Fitre:
Eid-ul-Fitre is the biggest festival for the Muslims. After a month's fasting we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitre at the end of the month of Ramadan. On this occasion we wear new dresses. We go to the Eidgah to say our Eid prayer. After the prayer, we embrace each other and say "Eid Mubarak". We go to our relatives house. Special dishes like khichuri, Payesh, Polao, Korma etc. are made to celebrate this day. We make a lot of fun in this day.
Eid-ul-Azha:
Eid-ul-Azha is the another biggest festival for the Muslims. It occurs after the two months of Eid-ul-Fitre. On this day, We go to the Eidgah to say our Eid prayer. Then we sacrifice our favorite animals for Allah. 
Durga Puja:
 Durga Puja is an annual festival for Hindu religious people. It is observed in the Bagnoli month of Ashwin. This festival is ten days long but last five days are very significance. Lighting and decorating are very common in this festival. The Puja is performed at some homes, public places or temples. Special dishes are made to celebrate these days. People make a lot of fun in these days.
Pahela Boishakh:
Pahela  Boishakh is the first day of Bangla new year. We observe the day every year. It is an annual festival in our country. The day starts with Romna batamol with many cultural programs. We eat panta illash in that day. We put on a colorful dress. People get up early in the morning. It is a public holiday. Baishakhi Mela holds in the village. Traders open Halkhata. The day is very important in our national life.
Christmas:
Christmas is an annual festival for Christian religious people. In Bengali, it is called Boro Din. Christian people celebrate the birthday of the Jesus Christ on this day.
Buddha Purnima:
 Buddha Purnima is an annual festival for Buddha religious people. On this day Buddhists celebrate the birthday of the Gautam Buddha. They observe it annually according to the Gregorian Calendar. On this day, they decorate the Buddhist temples. They make a lot of fun in this day.

My own experience to take part in some events and festivals in my locality:
About one year ago, I celebrated Pahela  Boishakh. It was the first day of Bangla new year. On this day, I got up early in the morning. It was a public holy day. I was very happy. I ate panta illash in that day. I put on a colorful dress. Then I went to Romna Batamol. There are many cultural programs held on Romna Batanol. In the afternoon, I came back home. Then I went to Join a Halkhata with my father. In the evening, I went to Baishakhi Mela with my friend. I came back home at 10 pm. The day was very enjoyable.

Again, about two years ago, I celebrated Eid-ul-Fitre in my village with my family. It was very enjoyable day in my life. On that day, I got up early in the morning. At first, I took my birth. Then I put on my new dress. Then I went to Eidgah to say my eid prayer with my father. After the prayer, I embraced each other and said "Eid Mubarak". I went to my relatives house. Special dishes like khichuri, Payesh, Polao, Korma etc. are made to celebrated this day. I made a lot of fun in that day with my friends and family.

Lastly, About one year ago, I observed the victory day in my school. It was 16th December in 2020. The 16th December  is our Victory Day because we have become independent on this day. I went to school early in the morning. There are many cultural programs held on my school on that day. I learnt many important things. For examples, It is a red letter day in our life. We celebrate this day every year with great pleasure and joy. It remains us of the sacrifices and struggle of the dedicated souls in 1971. Millions of people laid down their lives to uphold Bangladesh in the world map as a free and independent country. After the nine months war we achieved our great historical independence on December 16, 1971.


The ways of these events and festivals shape me and my nation / Usefulness of events and festivals:
There are many events and festivals in our country. They play an important role in our life and country. Some events and festivals are national and some are religious. Eid-ul-Fitre, Eid-ul-Azha,  Durga  Puja, Christmas,  Buddha Purnima are religious festivals. These festivals give us a chance to closer each other. These festivals give us an opportunity to reduce conflict and brings a bond of love to each other. Religious festivals reduce inequality to rich and poor. events and festivals have a special significance for us. The celebration of events and festivals Mark a day of cultural unity for the whole nation.
