Rahim: Hi, Karim.
Karim: Hello, Rahim.
Rahim: How are you?
Karim: I am fine, thank you. And you?
Rahim: I am also fine. thank you too. What are you doing?
Karim: I am reading an article about the computer.
Rahim: Oh, very good.
Karim: Do you have a computer?
Rahim: Yes, I have a computer. Do you also have a computer?
Karim: No, I don't have a computer.
Rahim: Oh, I see.
Karim: Do you tell me something about computer?
Rahim: Yes, Of course. Computer is the best invention of modern science. It is a boon to human civilization. It has become an inseparable part of modern life. It is an electronic machine that can store, organize and find information, do calculations, play music and games and control other machines.
Karim: Who is the inventor of computer?
Rahim: The invention of computer has a long history. Charles Babbage was the first invertor of modern computer.
Karim: Oh, I see. How do it work?
Rahim: It has no capacity to do anything by itself. It works on the basis of commands given by the operator. A computer has five major components. They are the input unit, the output unit, the memory unit, the control unit, and the arithmetic unit. A computer performs three basic functions. Firstly, it receive data. Secondly, it process data and finally, it emits data.
Karim: What are the uses of computer?
Rahim: At present, computers are play a vital role in many fields. such as homes, businesses, government, offices, research organizations, educational institutions, medical, entertainment etc.
Karim: Oh, I see. Then?
Rahim: In homes, computers are used to watch movies, play games, listing sons, internet browsing, Facebook browsing, etc. In businesses, computer are used to increase productivity, store, manage account, make reports, presentation etc. In government, computers are used all sectors. At present, computers are broadly used in education and health sectors. It is equally useful in all spheres of life and for all professionals.
Karim: Oh, I see.
Karim: Does it have any effects to the society?
Rahim: Computer has some effects. It is doing a lot of harm to the teenagers. It has become a fashion with the young people. Young people are so much addicted to computer. So their study is greatly hampered. Over use of computer makes eyesight weak and wastage of time.
Karim: So sad.
Rahim: Do you understand?
Karim: Yes, I have understand. Besides these negative aspects, computer has brought a great change in modern civilization. It is like Aladdin's lamp. We cannot go a single moment without computers. It is now a part and parcel of our daily life.
Rahim: You are right. Very good.
Karim: Thank you very much for your good information.
Rahim: You are most welcome.
