It is about 6.15 kilometers long. Its width is 18.10 meters. It has 42 pillars. Each pillars has 150 meters distance from each other. It has 41 spans. Each span weights about 3140 tons. This bridge has two levels. One is upper level and another is lower level. Upper level is used for four lanes of road transport and lower level is used for railway line. The total construction cost is about 30 thousand 793 crore and 39 lac taka. The bridge connected the southern 21 districts with the capital city of Dhaka. It is the 25th largest land bridge in the world. The Padma Bridge is a glorious achievement in the country's history.
